Monoprice 104619 In-Ceiling Pair

This Monoprice 104619 is a pair of 6.5-inch two-way in-ceiling speakers designed for home audio and home theater installations. They suit listeners who want discreet overhead sound with a stereo wiring option in each unit.

8 Ohm Impedance and Power Limits

Each speaker presents an 8 ohm load rated for 40 watts continuous and 100 watts maximum power handling. Your amplifier or receiver must be stable into 8 ohms and should not exceed the 100 watt peak rating per channel to avoid damage.

Check Amplifier Channels and Ceiling Space

Verify your amplifier has enough channels for a stereo pair and can deliver clean power into 8 ohms. Confirm the ceiling cavity depth accommodates the speaker frame and that you can run speaker wire to both mounting locations.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 40W continuous or 100W peak rating for my amplifier?

Match your amp to the 40W continuous rating; the 100W peak is only for brief transients.

What does the 6.5-inch glass composite woofer deliver in a real room?

The 6.5-inch glass composite cone with a 13.3 oz magnet produces distortion-free bass and clear midrange for in-ceiling placement.

How does the 8-ohm impedance affect what receiver I can use?

The 8-ohm load is easy for almost any home-theatre receiver to drive safely at the rated 40W continuous power.
