Monoprice 105587 3.5 mm stereo extension

This 6 ft cable extends the reach of existing 3.5 mm stereo connections. It features a male plug on one end and a female jack on the other. Gold-plated contacts resist corrosion for reliable signal transfer. The 22AWG conductors suit typical consumer audio applications.

Check your current 3.5 mm jack type

Verify that your source device and headphones or speakers both use standard 3.5 mm stereo ports. Measure the gap between equipment to confirm six feet provides enough slack without excess. Ensure the female socket on your existing cable accepts a male 3.5 mm plug. The 22AWG gauge matches common stereo patch leads.

Suits listeners needing extra length

Ideal for desktop users, home stereo owners or musicians who need more cable between a source and a 3.5 mm input. Not for buyers who require a balanced mono 2.5 mm connection or a cable with two male ends. Users wanting right-angle plugs or a shorter run should look at other options.

Questions about this item

Does the 6 ft extension cable ship with any adapters or must I buy a 2.5 mm or 3.5 mm adapter separately?

The cable has a 3.5 mm stereo male plug on one end and a 3.5 mm stereo female jack on the other; no adapters are included and none are needed for standard 3.5 mm connections.

Should I choose this 105587 model or a different length for a desktop headset run?

This model is a 6 ft 22 AWG gold-plated extension; pick it when you need roughly two metres of reach, otherwise select a shorter or longer variant.

What does the 22 AWG rating mean for audio quality on a typical PC headset?

The 22 AWG conductors keep resistance low over the 6 ft run, preserving signal level and reducing noise on standard 3.5 mm headphone or microphone connections.
