What this cable does

The Monoprice 118632 Onyx cable carries stereo audio and a microphone signal through a single 3.5 mm TRRS connection. It is built for smartphone users who want to plug wired headsets into a combined headphone jack without removing a protective case.

Check your device before ordering

Confirm that your source and headset both use a 3.5 mm TRRS socket with the same pinout for ground, left, right and microphone contacts. The cable is 3.00 ft long and has two connectors, so measure the distance between your devices to ensure the length is practical.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This suits anyone needing a slim, gold-plated TRRS lead that has survived 5000 bend cycles and fits through tight case cutouts. Buyers who require a longer reach, a right-angle plug, a 2.5 mm connector or a pure TRS stereo cable without microphone support should look at other options.

Questions about this item

Does the 3.5 mm TRRS plug work with a phone case on, and is anything else needed?

The slim bevelled step-down connectors fit most phone cases without removal, and the cable carries both stereo audio and microphone signals so no adapter is required.

Which length should I choose for a desk setup?

The 3.00 ft length keeps a phone-to-headphone link tidy on a desk without excess slack.

What does the 5 000 bend rating mean for daily use?

It means the cable survived 5 000 flex cycles in testing, so repeated plugging, unplugging and pocket storage should not degrade the connection.
