Power extension for C13 devices

This four-foot cord carries a male IEC 60320 C14 plug on one end and a female IEC 60320 C13 connector on the other. It lets you power a monitor or similar device from a PC power-supply outlet or extend an existing C13 cable run. The 18 AWG conductors are rated for 10 A at typical mains voltage.

C14-to-C13 wiring saves an outlet

The male C14 plugs into a C13 panel socket on a computer PSU while the female C13 accepts the monitor's C14 inlet, removing the need for a separate wall socket. No extra software or adapters are bundled; the cord itself is the complete accessory.

Plug-and-play with standard IEC sockets

Installation is a simple push-fit into any compliant C13 or C14 socket — no tools required. The only common issue is attempting to mate the connectors with non-IEC inlets or exceeding the 10 A rating, which the cord does not support.

Questions about this item

Will the 18AWG conductors or the C13/C14 connectors need replacement after years of daily use?

The 18AWG cable is rated for 10 A continuous current; the IEC 60320 C13 and C14 connectors are moulded and not user-serviceable, so the whole cord would be replaced if damage appears.

What thermal or current limit is reached first when the cord runs at full 10 A load for hours?

The 10 A rating of the 18AWG conductors is the limiting factor; sustained loads above 10 A will cause the cable to exceed its safe temperature rise.

How warm does the 4.00 ft cord get and does it emit any noise when powering a monitor all day?

The passive 18AWG cord produces no audible noise; at 10 A it will become slightly warm to the touch, which is normal for its gauge and length.
