True 2.1 Crossover Design

This 8-inch outdoor burial subwoofer uses a 12dB crossover at 200Hz to create a true 2.1 system. It handles all frequencies below 200Hz and routes higher frequencies to paired satellite speakers. The simplified wiring runs a single cable to the subwoofer, then shorter leads to each satellite. It is built for permanent in-ground installation in landscape audio setups.

Amplifier Power Range

The passive subwoofer is designed to work with amplifiers delivering 50 to 200 watts of power. This range determines whether your existing amplifier can drive the system correctly without distortion or damage. Matching your amplifier output to this window is the single specification that decides compatibility. Buyers with amplifiers outside this range should look for a different subwoofer solution.

Sustained Buried Operation

The weather-resistant enclosure is engineered for continuous underground placement where temperature and moisture remain constant. Unlike portable speakers that overheat during long sessions, this buried design dissipates heat into the surrounding soil during extended playback. It serves installations that run for hours at a time, such as background music for outdoor venues or whole-property audio systems.

Questions about this item

How does the 200 Hz crossover point affect what the subwoofer actually reproduces?

The built-in 12 dB crossover sends all frequencies below 200 Hz to the 8-inch driver and routes everything above 200 Hz to the connected satellite speakers.

What amplifier power range does the 2.1 system require for proper operation?

The system is designed for amplifiers delivering 50 to 200 watts, so any amp in that range will drive the subwoofer and satellites correctly.

What wiring layout does the burial subwoofer need for installation?

Run a single speaker cable from the amplifier to the subwoofer, then shorter cables from the subwoofer out to each satellite speaker.
