UK mains lead for laptop bricks and consoles

This 1.8-metre cord links a BS 1363 fused UK plug to an IEC 60320 C7 figure-eight inlet. It suits laptop power supplies, games consoles and similar low-draw devices that use the non-polarised C7 connector. The cable is rated for 5 amps at 250 volts, giving a 1250 watt maximum load. It carries VDE, ENEC and BSI approvals.

Not for earthed C5 or C13 inlets

The C7 end has only two pins, so equipment that requires a protective earth connection cannot use this lead. Buyers needing a three-pin C5 cloverleaf or C13 kettle-lead connector should choose a different cable. The integrated 5 amp fuse protects the flex but does not alter the connector limitation. Over-5-amp loads are also outside the rating.

Plug straight into wall and device

No tools or configuration are required; push the C7 end into the power brick and the BS 1363 plug into the socket. The 18 AWG conductors and H05VV-F sheath are flexible for routing behind desks. Common issues are forcing the non-polarised C7 into a polarised inlet or using the cord on equipment that draws more than 5 amps.
