Viper Series 12G SDI cable for UHD video

The Monoprice 141300 Viper Series BNC cable is built for professional video workflows that demand reliable UHD-SDI signal transport. It serves broadcast studios, mobile production trucks and home installations needing 4K@60Hz distribution over long runs. The 75-ohm BNC connectors with gold-plated contacts ensure consistent impedance matching for serial digital interfaces.

335-foot reach with 12Gbps bandwidth headroom

The 16 AWG solid annealed copper centre conductor and dual copper-aluminium shielding support 12Gbps throughput, handling 4K@60Hz signals across the full 335-foot length. Highly foamed PE insulation minimises attenuation so the cable maintains signal integrity where thinner or lower-grade coax would fail. Runs beyond this distance or higher frame-rate formats will exceed the cable's rated performance envelope.

Replaces legacy HD-SDI and 3G-SDI cable runs

Installations still using older HD or 3G-SDI coaxial cables gain a direct upgrade path to 4K@60Hz without changing connector infrastructure. The jump is worthwhile when workflows move to UHD-SDI and existing cable plant cannot sustain 12Gbps bandwidth reliably. It is not for buyers who need fibre-optic reach, IP-based transport or multi-channel audio embedding beyond the SDI payload.

Questions about this item

Will this 335-foot 16 AWG BNC cable reach my rack-mounted switcher from the camera position?

The cable is 335 feet long, so measure your actual run including any cable-management slack before committing to the length.

How can I confirm the 12Gbps link is carrying 4K at 60 Hz without errors?

Connect the cable between a 12G-SDI source and monitor, then check the receiver status screen for a clean 12G lock and zero CRC errors.

Does the box include the two 75-ohm BNC connectors or must I crimp them myself?

Both ends already have True 75-ohm BNC male connectors with gold-plated contacts factory-fitted; no crimping is required.
