What it is and who needs it

The Monoprice 141687 is a one-metre power extension cord built with a C14 plug and a C13 receptacle. It suits anyone who needs to bridge the gap between a device and a distant outlet or PDU.

Build quality and daily use

The H05VV-F 3G 0.75 mm² cable carries up to 10 A at 250 V for a 2500 W load. The grounded IEC 60320 connectors lock securely into servers, monitors or rack-mounted gear without wiggle.

What it replaces and when to upgrade

It replaces a too-short factory cord when equipment sits farther from the power source than the original lead allows. The jump is worth it whenever cable length, not capacity, is the limiting factor.

Questions about this item

What load does the IEC 60320 C14 to C13 connection support?

The cord is rated for 10 amp and 2500 watt at 250 volt, which is the practical limit for the C14 plug and C13 receptacle on this cable.

What clearance does the 1 metre H05VV-F 3G 0.75 mm² cable need for routing?

At one metre long with a flexible 0.75 mm² sheath, it fits standard rack U-space and desktop runs without requiring large bend-radius allowances.

How do you install the C14 to C13 extension, and what step is often missed?

Insert the C14 plug fully into the PDU or UPS outlet until it clicks, then seat the C13 receptacle onto the device inlet until it locks; the step often missed is verifying both connectors are latched.
