Compact 12-inch powered subwoofer for home audio

The Monoprice 144516 is a 12-inch powered subwoofer rated at 400W, designed to add low-frequency impact to stereo or home-theatre systems without requiring a large cabinet footprint. Its ported enclosure aims to deliver ample bass output while remaining small enough to sit in a corner or beside furniture.

Check your amplifier outputs and placement space

Verify that your receiver or amplifier provides either an RCA line-level output or speaker-level terminals compatible with the subwoofer's high-level inputs. Ensure the intended location has access to a mains socket and enough floor area for the compact enclosure, keeping the port clear of walls or obstacles for proper airflow.

Built-in amplifier handles 400W in a ported box

The internal 400W amplifier drives the 12-inch driver within a ported cabinet, so the unit draws continuous AC power during operation. Adjustable volume, crossover and phase controls let you match output to the room, while the enclosure size keeps the physical profile unobtrusive for typical living-room placements.

Questions about this item

Does the Monoprice 144516 subwoofer include all necessary cables for the RCA and high-level speaker inputs?

Should I choose the 12-inch 400W model or a different size for a compact living room?

The 12-inch driver and 400W amplifier are engineered for a compact ported enclosure, delivering ample bass output while remaining small enough to place in a corner, beside a sofa, or near a TV stand.

How does the 400W amplifier perform when the subwoofer is placed in a real room?

The built-in 400W amplifier drives the 12-inch driver in a ported enclosure, and the volume, crossover, and phase controls let you tune output for corner, sofa-side, or TV-stand placement.
