1x8 HDMI Splitter for Multi-Display Setups

The Monoprice Blackbird 4K Pro 1x8 HDMI Splitter distributes a single HDMI source to eight displays simultaneously. It is designed for installers and AV enthusiasts who need identical 4K output across multiple screens in commercial or residential environments.

Bandwidth Limited to 10.2 Gbps

The splitter delivers up to 10.2 Gbps bandwidth, restricting 4K@60Hz signals to 12-bit YCbCr 4:2:0 chroma subsampling. Full 24-bit RGB or 4:4:4 colour at 4K is only supported at 30Hz, so high-refresh 4K sources will be downgraded automatically.

HDCP 2.2 and EDID Management Built In

Compliance with HDCP 2.2 ensures protected 4K content plays without handshake failures across all eight outputs. EDID support maintains stable timing and resolution negotiation, reducing the chance of dropped signals when displays are powered on or off.

Questions about this item

Should I choose this 1x8 splitter or a smaller 1x2 model for my eight displays?

The 1x8 model splits one source to eight screens simultaneously; a 1x2 only feeds two, so you would need additional splitters or a matrix switch to reach eight displays.

What does the 10.2 Gbps bandwidth mean for my 4K 60 Hz setup?

At 10.2 Gbps the splitter passes 4K at 60 Hz using 12-bit YCbCr 4:2:0 chroma subsampling; full 4:4:4 colour at 60 Hz needs more bandwidth than this unit provides.

How does HDCP 2.2 affect playback of protected 4K content?

HDCP 2.2 compliance lets the splitter handshake with 4K Blu-ray players and streaming boxes, so protected UHD streams pass through to all eight displays without dropping to a lower resolution.
