Balanced 16 AWG copper cable with 97.5% braid shielding connects pro audio gear over 3ft
This 1/4 inch TRS male-to-male cable carries balanced signals between professional audio gear or serves as a stereo interconnect for high-end entertainment systems. The 16 AWG stranded pure copper conductors deliver low resistance over the three-foot length. Ninety-seven point five percent copper braid shielding rejects electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference while a separate braided shield prevents ground-loop issues. Gold-plated plugs resist corrosion for reliable long-term contact.
Unbalanced RCA interconnects use their braid as a signal return, which can modulate interference into the audio path; this cable provides a dedicated shield and balanced impedance lines instead. The jump is worth it when you need longer runs without noise pickup or when connecting balanced inputs and outputs on mixers, interfaces or studio monitors. It also replaces flimsy 2.5 mm or 3.5 mm patch cords that lack robust shielding and secure 1/4 inch connections.
The cable plugs directly into 1/4 inch TRS jacks on audio interfaces, mixing consoles, amplifiers, instruments and balanced headphones. No adapters are required when both ends share the same connector, freeing up adapter stock and reducing potential failure points. The flexible stranded construction routes easily around rack gear and pedalboards while the heavy braid maintains shielding integrity during repeated coiling.

Both ends carry a 1/4in TRS male connector, so it plugs directly into standard quarter-inch balanced jacks on mixers, interfaces or headphone amplifiers.
Push each 1/4in TRS plug straight in until the barrel clicks past the jack's detent; the mistake is stopping at the first resistance, which leaves the ring contact floating and creates noise.
Replace it if you hear new hum or intermittent crackle that disappears when you wiggle the 1/4in TRS ends, indicating the 97.5 braid or 16 conductors have fatigued.
