Monoprice Premium Toslink Cable 50 ft

This 50 ft Toslink digital optical audio cable connects home-theatre components, game consoles and other S/PDIF devices. Full-sized male connectors on both ends carry uncompressed 2-channel PCM or compressed multichannel formats such as Dolby 5.1 and DTS 7.1. The optical link eliminates electrical crosstalk and radio-frequency interference.

Heavy-duty mesh jacket and metal connectors

An 8.0 mm metal mesh jacket shields the internal fibre from nicks, cuts and kinks during routing. Square metal connector heads provide a secure fit and protect the optical tips from damage. The robust construction is designed for permanent installation behind equipment racks or along baseboards.

50 ft maximum run for optical S/PDIF

The 15.24 m length suits whole-room distribution between source and receiver. Builders needing longer single-cable runs or copper-based coaxial S/PDIF should verify distance limits before purchasing.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 50 ft Toslink cable and what step is often missed?

Insert each male connector fully until it clicks; the common mistake is leaving a gap because the square metal heads need a firm push to seat the internal fiber flush with the port.

What maintenance or replacement will this optical cable need over time?

The 8.0 mm mesh jacket resists nicks and kinks, so only inspect the connector tips for dust or scratches; replace the cable if the fiber end faces become damaged.

What length limit affects signal quality on a 50 ft run?

At 15.24 metres the cable supports uncompressed 2-channel PCM and compressed 5.1 or 7.1 audio without the electrical interference that limits copper cables.
