8 Inch Carbon Fiber In Wall Pair

The Monoprice 124433 speakers are a two way in wall pair built for home theatre and music listening. They use carbon fibre drivers and a ribbon tweeter behind a magnetic grille. This combination suits owners who want discreet installation with detailed sound reproduction.

Ribbon Tweeter Sustained Clarity

The ribbon tweeter needs about 90 percent less excursion than a typical one inch dome, allowing very high acceleration during extended passages. This design keeps distortion low when the system runs at realistic volumes for long periods. Wide horizontal dispersion also maintains a consistent sweet spot across multiple seats.

Three Position High Frequency Attenuator

A switch on the speaker reduces high frequencies by zero, minus three or minus six decibels. This single adjustment lets you match the treble response to the room acoustics without external equipment. Buyers who need automated room correction or app control will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

Does the 8-inch carbon-fiber woofer generate noticeable heat during all-day playback?

Passive speakers have no built-in amplification, so the drivers themselves produce negligible heat; any warmth comes from the external amplifier driving them.

What amplifier connections and power rating do I need to drive the 124433 pair properly?

You need a stereo amplifier or AV receiver with bare-wire or banana-plug speaker outputs capable of delivering the power your listening level requires; the speakers present a standard 8-ohm load.

Will the ribbon tweeter's wide horizontal dispersion integrate cleanly with my older centre-channel speaker?

The ribbon tweeter's wide horizontal dispersion expands the sweet spot, making timbre matching with an existing centre channel easier, especially when using the 0/-3/-6 dB high-frequency attenuator to balance brightness.
