Power-cord adapter for C14-to-NEMA 5-15 conversion

This six-foot blue cable carries a male IEC 60320 C14 plug on one end and a female NEMA 5-15 receptacle on the other. It turns an existing C13-terminated power lead into a standard North-American extension. The 14 AWG conductors are rated for 15 amps. Model 133658 is supplied new from Monoprice Inc.

Check your existing lead and outlet before ordering

Verify that the power cord you already own ends in a C13 connector that will mate with the C14 plug on this adapter. Confirm the wall outlet or power-strip socket is a NEMA 5-15 type. The adapter adds six feet of reach, so measure the total run to avoid excess slack or tension.

Replaces makeshift extension strips

Use this adapter instead of daisy-chaining generic extension cords when a single C13-to-NEMA 5-15 link is cleaner and safer. The jump is worth it when rack or desk geometry demands a direct C14-to-NEMA 5-15 transition without extra bulk. Not suited for buyers who need a C13-to-C14 straight-through cord or a locking connector.

Questions about this item

What connectors come on the 6 ft blue cord with model number 133658?

The cord has a male IEC 60320 C14 plug on one end and a female NEMA 5-15 connector on the other; no extra parts are included.

Which version of this cord should I choose for a standard PC power supply?

Choose the 14 AWG 15 A version shown here; it mates a C13 cable to a NEMA 5-15 outlet for typical desktop supplies.

What does the 15 A rating mean when the cord is plugged into a PC?

The 15 A rating matches the NEMA 5-15 connector limit, so the cord will not restrict the current a standard PC power supply draws.
