A 1.524 m white Cat5e patch cable with 24 AWG pure copper conductors, 350 MHz bandwidth and 50 µm gold-plated contacts
This 1.524 m Cat5e patch cable terminates in RJ45 plugs with 50 µm gold contacts and 24 AWG stranded pure bare copper conductors. The white jacket and snagless strain-relief boots make it easy to identify and route in a home or office network. It is built to the 350 MHz bandwidth specification for Cat5e links.
The unshielded twisted-pair construction uses 100 percent pure bare copper rather than copper-clad aluminium, so attenuation stays low and the 350 MHz rating is maintained over the full length. Stranded conductors tolerate repeated flexing when cables are moved between ports or rerouted around furniture.
Gold-plated contacts rated at 50 µm resist oxidation through many insertion cycles, while the short-body plug profile fits dense switch panels without blocking adjacent ports. Colour-matched snagless boots protect the latch during frequent patching, and the cable meets UL 444 and TIA-568-C fire-safety requirements for in-wall or plenum routing where local code permits.

No, the 350 MHz bandwidth is a signal capacity rating and does not generate heat or draw power during continuous use.
You need a router, switch, modem or network card with standard RJ45 jacks to plug each end of the 5-foot cable into.
Yes, the 24 AWG stranded copper pairs and 50 µm gold contacts are fully backward compatible with legacy 10/100 equipment.
