A 2 ft purple Cat6 patch cable with stranded pure bare copper conductors, 550 MHz bandwidth and a thin Flexboot that makes the RJ45 clip easier to depress
This Monoprice Cat6 Ethernet patch cable measures 2 ft and uses 24 AWG stranded pure bare copper conductors. It is built for gigabit networks and tested to a 550 MHz bandwidth rating. The purple jacket helps identify the run in a busy rack or panel.
Replacing a Cat5e cord with this Cat6 cable raises the verified bandwidth to 550 MHz and supports full gigabit throughput. The jump is worth it when a link drops to 100 Mbps because of a kinked or corroded connector. The 50 µm gold-plated contacts resist oxidation that degrades signal over time.
The thin Flexboot cover protects the RJ45 retaining clip while leaving enough clearance to depress the tab in crowded patch panels. UTP construction meets UL 444 and TIA-568-C.2 fire and safety standards for in-wall or plenum-adjacent runs. The stranded conductors stay flexible for repeated re-patching.

The FLEXboot is thinner than standard snagless boots, so it fits tight patch-panel ports and leaves enough finger room to depress the retaining clip easily.
Push the plug straight in until the clip clicks; the flexible boot lets you press the clip down fully before pulling, which avoids angling the pins.
Replace it if the boot tears, the clip breaks, or the gold-plated contacts show corrosion — otherwise the pure bare copper conductors and 550 MHz rating remain reliable for the cable's lifetime.
