18-inch QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop

The MSI Crosshair 18 HX AI pairs an 18.0-inch IPS panel at 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. It targets gamers and creators who need a large, colour-accurate canvas for fast-paced titles and content work. An Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX with 24 cores and 24 threads drives the system alongside 64GB of DDR5 5600 memory. A GeForce RTX 5070 with 8GB GDDR7 handles graphics duties while a 1TB PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe SSD stores the library.

Display and Interface Practical Limits

The 240 Hz panel can only show frames the GPU delivers; the RTX 5070 8GB GDDR7 sets the ceiling for modern titles at QHD+ detail. HDMI v2.1 on the rear supports external 4K high-refresh displays, while the single Thunderbolt 4 port adds DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.0 for docks or extra monitors. Gigabit LAN tops out at 1000Mbps, and Wi-Fi 6E AX211 with Bluetooth 5.3 provides wireless throughput within the 6E spectrum. Three USB-A 3.2 Gen1 ports and one USB-C round out daily connectivity.

Upgrade Path From Previous Hardware

Moving from a 14900HX-class notebook brings a 24-core 275HX running 2.1 to 5.4 GHz, 64GB DDR5 versus typical 32GB kits, and the newer RTX 5070 architecture with GDDR7 memory. The jump is worth it when current hardware cannot sustain 240 Hz at QHD+ in competitive shooters, when memory pressure limits multitasking or creative apps, or when Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E are required for modern peripherals. The 90Whr battery and 240W adapter support the higher power envelope.
