18-inch QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop

The MSI Crosshair 18 HX AI pairs an 18.0 inch IPS panel at 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 240 Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. An Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor with 24 cores runs at 2.1 to 5.4 GHz alongside an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR7 memory. The system ships with 64GB of DDR5 5600 memory and a 1TB PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe SSD under Windows 11 Home.

Installation and Common Issues

The laptop arrives fully assembled with the operating system pre-loaded, so initial setup follows the standard Windows 11 out-of-box experience. Driver updates for the Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth 5.3 radios, the RTX 5070 graphics, and the Thunderbolt 4 controller should be applied before heavy use. The 240 W power adapter uses a proprietary connector; ensure the cable is fully seated to avoid intermittent charging. The 90 Whr battery is internal and not user-replaceable.

Ideal Users and Alternatives

This configuration suits competitive gamers and content creators who need a high-refresh 18 inch display, 24-thread CPU performance, and 64GB of memory in a single chassis. The four-zone RGB keyboard with anti-ghosting and the 99-key layout appeal to players who value per-key lighting. Buyers who prioritise thinner ultraportables, longer unplugged runtime, or a lower purchase tier should evaluate smaller 14 or 16 inch models instead.
