16-core Ryzen 9 mobile workstation

The MSI Vector A16 pairs an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX 16-core 32-thread processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop GPU. It targets professionals and gamers who need high multi-thread throughput and dedicated graphics in a 16-inch chassis. Windows 11 Home runs on 64GB of DDR5 5600MHz memory and a 2TB PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe M.2 SSD.

240Hz QHD+ IPS panel decides fit

The 16-inch 2560 x 1600 IPS display refreshes at 240Hz and covers 100% DCI-P3 at 400 nits. That combination of resolution, refresh rate and colour volume is the single specification that determines whether the laptop suits competitive gaming or colour-critical work. No touch layer is present.

Thunderbolt 5 and Wi-Fi 7 change daily workflow

Two USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 5 at 40Gbps for external GPUs, high-speed storage or dual 4K displays. MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7925 and Bluetooth 5.4 replace the previous generation’s wireless stack. A 1080p IR webcam with privacy shutter, 99-key per-key RGB keyboard and 90Wh battery with 330W adapter complete the connectivity and usability package.

Questions about this item

How does the 240 Hz panel behave in everyday gaming?

The 16 inch QHD+ IPS display refreshes at 240 Hz, so fast-paced titles stay smooth and motion blur is minimal during competitive play.

What does the Thunderbolt 5 connection limit in real use?

Each USB-C port delivers 40 Gbps bandwidth, capping external GPU enclosures and high-speed NVMe drives at that throughput ceiling.

Will the 330 W power brick fit in a standard laptop sleeve?

The adapter is sized for the 90 Wh battery and 330 W draw, so it adds noticeable bulk; check sleeve depth against the 1.12 inch chassis height.
