Pressboard fastener folder with 2-inch expansion

The Nature Saver SP17217 is a letter-size pressboard fastener folder designed for heavy-duty filing. It holds 8.50 x 11 inch sheets and provides 2 inches of expansion capacity. Each folder includes two fasteners with a 2 x 2 inch capacity. The box contains 25 gray-green folders.

Suited for high-volume paper filing.

These folders suit offices, schools, or archives managing thick paper files that need secure fastening. The 2-inch expansion handles bulky documents without tearing. Buyers who need compact, non-expanding folders or plastic pockets for small volumes should look at other options.

2-inch expansion capacity determines file thickness

The single specification that decides fit is the 2-inch expansion size. It sets the maximum thickness of paper the folder can hold while staying closed. Match this figure to your typical file stack height before ordering.

Questions about this item

How do I install the fasteners on these 8.50 x 11 folders and what step gets missed?

Align the two-prong fasteners with the pre-punched holes, insert the prongs through the paper stack, then spread both prongs flat against the back cover — skipping the spreading step lets pages slide out.

What maintenance or replacement will the SP17217 folders need over time?

The pressboard covers and 2-inch expansion gussets handle repeated filing; replace a folder only if a fastener prong bends or the gusset tears from overstuffing.

What limit appears first when these 25 folders are used continuously at full 2-inch capacity?

The 2-inch expansion gusset reaches its physical fill point before the dual 2-inch fastener capacity does, so the gusset is the first constraint.
