3300-Lumen 3LCD Home Theater Projector

The NEC ME331X is a new 3LCD projector rated at 3300 ANSI lumens with a native 1024 x 768 resolution and 12000:1 contrast. It accepts 1080p input and includes a built-in 20 W speaker for rooms that need clear audio without external gear. The unit weighs 6.4 lbs and ships with power cable, HDMI cable and remote control.

Connectivity And Mounting Checklist

Verify that your source devices can output HDMI or VGA signals and that you have an RJ45 network drop if you plan to use Crestron RoomView or wired multi-presenter sharing. Wireless screen sharing for up to 16 devices requires the optional NP05LM1 adapter, which is not included. Confirm ceiling-mount hardware suits a medium-throw lens and that your projection surface matches the 4:3 aspect ratio.

Upgrade From Lower-Brightness Or SVGA Units

This model replaces dimmer SVGA projectors or older portable units that lack 1080p compatibility and network management. The jump is worth it when you need 3300 lumens for lit rooms, 12000:1 contrast for darker scenes, and built-in 20 W sound for meetings or movies without extra speakers. Buyers who need native 1080p panels, wireless sharing out of the box, or ultra-short-throw placement should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the NEC ME331X bundle include a power cable, HDMI cable and remote control or do I need to buy any of those separately?

The bundle ships with a power cable, an HDMI cable and a remote control so no separate purchase is needed for those accessories.

Should I choose the native 1024x768 mode or the 1080p HD video mode for the sharpest picture?

Native 1024x768 gives pixel-perfect clarity; 1080p is an accepted signal that the projector scales down to the native panel.

What does the 3300 ANSI lumens rating mean when the projector is used in a living room with some ambient light?

At 3300 ANSI lumens the image stays bright and readable with moderate room lighting, though total darkness still yields the best contrast.
