NEON Drive

NEON Drive SATA to PATA/IDE Dual Adapter 40-pin 100/133

SKU CH-J614-4Z52N

Dual adapter connects SATA drives to 40-pin PATA/IDE systems or PATA/IDE drives to SATA hosts, supports ATA 100/133, includes SATA and Molex power cables

  • Connect SATA drives to legacy PATA motherboards
  • Convert PATA drives for use with SATA controllers
  • Supports ATA 100/133 transfer modes
  • Includes SATA data cable and power cable
  • Adds approximately 4cm drive length requiring case clearance

Dual SATA-to-IDE adapter for desktop drives

This NEON Drive adapter converts a SATA drive to a 40-pin PATA interface or a PATA drive to a SATA interface. It supports ATA 100/133 operation inside desktop computers. The kit includes a SATA data cable and a SATA power cable.

40-pin IDE and dual SATA ports with Molex power

The adapter provides one 40-pin IDE connector, two SATA ports for data and power, and a 4-pin Molex connector. It enables bidirectional conversion between SATA and PATA/IDE standards without requiring an external enclosure.

Adds 4 cm length and needs internal case space

Installation requires sufficient clearance inside the desktop chassis because the adapter extends the drive by about 4 cm. It is not compatible with external hard drive enclosures and is designed only for internal desktop drive bays.

Questions about this item

What does the ATA 100/133 rating mean for actual transfer speed in a desktop?

The adapter supports ATA 100 and ATA 133 modes, so the connected drive can run at its native Ultra DMA speed up to 133 MB/s, limited by the drive and host controller.

Which SATA version does the dual adapter use, and what throughput does that cap?

The on-board SATA ports operate at SATA speeds, so the practical ceiling is the SATA interface limit rather than the PATA side.

How much extra case depth does the 40-pin IDE connector and cables add to the drive?

The unit adds about 4 cm to the drive length, so verify that your chassis has enough clearance behind the drive bay.
