The New Pig BOM403 absorbent boom is designed to soak up oil-based fluids in industrial and laboratory settings. Each package contains two white booms that together absorb up to 24 gallons of liquid. The 20-foot total length allows coverage across large surface areas or around equipment. Polypropylene filler material is encased in a UV-resistant polyester skin for outdoor durability.

Simple deployment with minimal training

Lay the boom flat on the spill or shape it around machinery to contain spreading liquid. The flexible polyester cover conforms to uneven floors without special tools. Over-saturation is the most common issue; once the polypropylene core reaches capacity the boom will leak, so monitor colour change and replace promptly. Static-dissipative properties are not included, so avoid use near sensitive electronics.

Verify fluid compatibility and space before ordering

Confirm that the spilled substance is oil-based, as the filler does not absorb water or water-based chemicals. Ensure the 20-foot length and five-inch diameter fit the containment zone without blocking walkways or drainage. Check that UV exposure matches the boom’s resistance rating if the application is outdoors. Two booms per pack may require multiple packs for larger incidents.
