This 15 ft Cat6A UTP patch cable uses 24 AWG stranded pure copper conductors and RJ45 plugs with 50 micron gold contacts. It is built for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links up to 100 meters and operates at a minimum frequency of 500 MHz. The black CM-rated PVC jacket follows T568B wiring. It suits home offices, small-business LANs and rack patching where unshielded cable is specified.

Upgrade from Cat5e or Cat6

Replacing Cat5e or standard Cat6 with this Cat6A cable adds headroom for 10,000Base-T traffic and raises the frequency rating to 550 MHz. The jump is worth it when new 10 GbE switches or servers are installed and the existing cabling cannot guarantee 500 MHz performance. It also improves crosstalk suppression and heat dissipation for PoE loads. Buyers who need shielded cable for noisy industrial environments or runs beyond 100 meters cannot use this UTP design.

Practical limits of Cat6A UTP

The TIA/EIA standard limits 10GBase-T over UTP to 100 meters (328 feet) including patch cords, so this 15 ft segment consumes only a small portion of the budget. Alien crosstalk margins tighten in dense bundles, so cable management matters. The CM jacket is rated for in-wall use but not for plenum spaces. Connectors use 50 micron gold plating to resist corrosion over repeated mating cycles.
