4 ft Cat6A UTP patch cable

This four-foot Category 6A UTP cable uses 24 AWG stranded pure copper conductors and RJ45 plugs with 50 micron gold-plated contacts. It is wired to the T568B standard and sheathed in CM-rated PVC. The cable supports 10Base-T, 100Base-T, 1000Base-T and 10,000Base-T Ethernet up to 100 metres. It operates at a minimum frequency of 500 MHz and carries UL, ETL and RoHS certifications.

Build integration and cable management

The short four-foot length suits patch-panel-to-switch links, rack-to-device hops or desk-side connections where excess slack would obstruct airflow. Unshielded twisted-pair construction keeps the cable flexible for tight routing through cable managers or raised-floor trays. Booted RJ45 connectors protect the latch during repeated insertion and removal. No external ground or shield termination is required, simplifying installation in standard keystone jacks or wall plates.

Upgrade path from Cat5e or Cat6

Replacing Cat5e or standard Cat6 links with this Cat6A cable raises the usable bandwidth ceiling to 10 Gigabit Ethernet and improves crosstalk suppression for cleaner 550 MHz signalling. The stranded 24 AWG conductors also handle Power over Ethernet heat dissipation more effectively than solid-core alternatives. The jump is worthwhile when 10GBASE-T ports are active or planned, or when existing runs show error rates that higher-specification cabling can resolve.
