5 ft Cat6A UTP patch cable

This 5 ft Cat6A UTP patch cable uses 24 AWG stranded pure copper conductors and RJ45 connectors wired to the T568B standard. It is built for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links up to 100 meters and operates at a minimum frequency of 500 MHz. The yellow CM-type PVC jacket and snagless moulded boots suit home, office and rack installations.

Check connector type and run length

Verify that both endpoints accept standard RJ45 plugs and that the 5 ft length reaches between your switch, router, server or media player without tension. The cable is unshielded UTP, so avoid routing it parallel to power cables or fluorescent ballasts where alien crosstalk could degrade the 550 MHz rated bandwidth. Ensure the equipment supports 10Base-T through 10000Base-T signalling.

Upgrades from Cat5e or Cat6 links

Replacing Cat5e or standard Cat6 patch cords with this Cat6A cable removes the 1 Gbps bottleneck and enables 10 Gbps throughput on existing copper infrastructure.
