2 GHz bandwidth ceiling

The cable is rated to 2000 MHz, which is the practical limit of the Cat8 standard over copper. Shielding is provided by individual foil wrap on each twisted pair to contain crosstalk at that frequency. Backward compatibility extends to Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and Cat7 equipment, so the same cord works in mixed environments. Lengths beyond the standard channel limit will reduce the usable bandwidth.

40 Gbps headroom for short runs

At this length the cord comfortably supports 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T links with margin to spare. The oxygen-free copper core and double aluminium foil keep insertion loss low across the 2 GHz band. For runs longer than the Cat8 channel maximum the 40 Gbps rate cannot be guaranteed. Builders needing extended distances should consider fibre or a lower category rated for longer reach.
