Cat8 3 ft slim patch cable

This 3 ft Cat8 patch cable uses 30 AWG stranded pure copper conductors and U/FTP foil shielding on each pair. It terminates in RJ45 plugs with 50 µm gold-plated contacts and a CM-rated PVC jacket. The slim profile suits tight routing behind desks or inside racks where space is limited.

Practical limits of the Cat8 standard

Cat8 is specified for up to 2000 MHz bandwidth and 40 Gbps data rates over short channels. The standard targets 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T links, so runs beyond the defined channel length will not meet rated performance. Backward compatibility covers Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A and Cat7 equipment, but the cable cannot exceed the capabilities of the connected ports.

Build quality and daily handling

Molded strain relief and a snagless push-tab protect the latch during repeated insertion and removal.
