Cat.8 cable for 25G and 40G links

This seven-foot Cat.8 patch cord is built for 25GBASE-T and 40GBASE-T connections in data-centre and enterprise LAN environments. Its U/FTP shielding and 2 GHz bandwidth suit switch-to-server runs where high throughput and alien-crosstalk immunity matter. The slim 30 AWG stranded copper conductors keep the cable flexible for dense patch-panel installations. Backward compatibility lets it drop into existing RJ45 infrastructure without re-termination.

U/FTP shielding and gold-plated contacts

Each of the four pairs is individually foil-shielded, reducing pair-to-pair crosstalk and supporting the 2000 MHz operating frequency required for 40 Gbps signalling. The RJ45 plugs carry 50-micron gold-plated contacts that resist oxidation and maintain low contact resistance over repeated mating cycles. A CM-rated PVC jacket meets in-wall flame requirements while the T568B wiring scheme ensures consistent pin-out across the link.

Handles 40 Gbps up to the standard channel limit

The cable delivers the full 40 Gbps data rate at 2 GHz across its rated length, making it suitable for short-reach switch-to-server links in racks and cabinets. Beyond the Cat.8 channel distance the signal budget is exhausted, so longer runs must step down to 25GBASE-T or lower categories. The 30 AWG gauge limits PoE current capacity, so high-power PoE++ endpoints should use heavier-gauge cabling instead.
