Desk phone for SMB communications

The Nortel Networks 1230 IP Phone NTYS20BC70E6 in charcoal is a business telephone designed for small and medium enterprises using BCM platforms. Its ergonomic design and minimal footprint protect valuable desktop space while providing a professional appearance for office environments.

Installation via integrated Ethernet switch

Setup is simplified by the integrated two-port 10/100 Ethernet switch that allows a PC to connect directly through the phone. This reduces cabling infrastructure and the costs associated with moves, adds, and changes, though the 100 Mbps switch speed may limit network throughput for the attached computer.

Limits of the 10/100 switched interface

The integrated switch operates at 10/100 speeds rather than gigabit, which can bottleneck data transfer for the connected PC. The handset relies on BCM feature sets with over 400 available options, so organisations not using compatible BCM systems cannot access the pre-programmed or customisable telephony features.
