Optoma DX626 180W replacement lamp

The Optoma DX626 is a 180W projector lamp module supplied as a complete bulb-and-housing assembly for direct installation. It is intended for users whose existing DX626-series projector shows dimming output or a lamp-warning indicator. The lamp delivers a rated life of 5,000 hours in normal mode and 6,000 hours in economy mode. This new unit restores original brightness without requiring separate bulb handling.

Check your projector model

Confirm that your projector uses the DX626 designation or the BL-FP180G lamp code before purchase. Verify the projector accepts a 180W P-VIP lamp type, as wattage mismatches can prevent ignition or cause damage. Ensure the projector housing is free of dust buildup that could shorten the new lamp's lifespan. The module arrives fully assembled, so no additional tools are required for the swap.

Replaces a spent 180W lamp in DX626 projectors

This lamp replaces an exhausted 180W module in compatible Optoma projectors when brightness has fallen below usable levels or the hour counter has reached its limit. The upgrade is worthwhile when the projector otherwise functions correctly and a full replacement restores the original 5,000 to 6,000 hour service interval. It is not suitable for projectors requiring a different wattage, lamp form factor or manufacturer-specific bulb technology.

Questions about this item

Does the Optoma DX626 lamp ship as a complete module with the housing, or do I need to buy the cage separately?

The DX626 lamp is supplied as a fully assembled 180 W module that includes the Osram P-VIP bulb already mounted in its housing, so no separate cage purchase is required.

Which of the four available versions of the DX626 lamp should I choose for the best balance of authenticity and cost?

The three OEM versions use genuine bulbs from Philips, Osram, Ushio, Phoenix, Iwasaki or Matsushita; the compatible version uses OEM parts from a leading third-party maker, all built to ISO 9001 standards.

What does the 5 000 to 6 000 hour rating mean for everyday use of the 180 W lamp?

In normal mode the lamp is rated for 5 000 hours and in economy mode for 6 000 hours, giving a clear indication of expected runtime before replacement.
