Connection & Compatibility

The GS400 Ultra headset offers four connection methods: 2.4 GHz wireless via USB dongle, Bluetooth, USB wired and 3.5 mm analogue wired. It works with PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox consoles that have a 3.5 mm jack, plus laptops, tablets and phones. This flexibility lets you switch between devices without changing headsets.

Wireless Range & Latency

The 2.4 GHz link reaches up to 17 metres with latency under 20 ms for lag-free audio. Battery life is rated at 40 hours on 2.4 GHz and 45 hours on Bluetooth. The headset weighs 35 grams according to the spec sheet, while the supplier description lists 276 grams, so the actual mass may differ from the lighter figure.

Setup Requirements

Check that your Xbox controller includes a 3.5 mm audio port; consoles without that jack cannot use the analogue cable. For wireless use on PC or PlayStation, a free USB-A port is needed for the 2.4 GHz dongle. Bluetooth pairing requires a device that supports Bluetooth audio profiles. No software driver is mentioned for the virtual 7.1 surround feature.

Should I pick the 2.4 GHz dongle, Bluetooth, USB or the 3.5 mm cable for my platform?

Use the 2.4 GHz dongle for PC, PS4, PS5 and Switch; plug the 3.5 mm cable into an Xbox One controller; Bluetooth works with phones, tablets and laptops; USB is for charging only.

What does the 7.1 surround label actually deliver in games?

How far does the 2.4 GHz wireless link reach before it drops?

Stable connection up to 17 metres (about 55 ft) indoors; walls and interference will reduce that distance.
