Portable NVMe and SATA enclosure

The Orico aluminium case accepts M.2 drives in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths with either NVMe or SATA interfaces. It connects through USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 and supports drives up to 4TB, making it a compact way to add external storage to laptops, desktops or Android devices.

Tool-free installation and thermal management

A sliding cover locks the SSD in place without screws, while a thermal pad and the aluminium body work together as a heatsink to draw heat away from the controller during sustained transfers. An LED shows standby or activity, and the enclosure enters sleep mode after ten minutes of inactivity.

Check drive keying and host port speed

Verify that your SSD uses an M-key, B+M-key or B+M-key SATA layout; other key types will not fit. The bundle includes a 30 cm USB-C to USB-A cable, so confirm your host has a compatible USB-A or USB-C port able to run at 10 Gbps for NVMe or 5 Gbps for SATA.

Questions about this item

Will the thermal silicone pad need replacing after long-term use?

The enclosure uses a thermal silicone pad between the SSD and aluminum heatsink; it is not user-replaceable and designed for the product lifetime.

At what point does the 10Gbps USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 interface become the bottleneck?

With an NVMe SSD the link caps at 10Gbps, so sustained reads above 1000MB/s will be limited by the USB connection.

Does the aluminum case stay cool enough for all-day operation without a fan?

The aluminum shell and integrated heatsink dissipate heat passively; the enclosure has no fan and relies on convection during continuous use.
