Compatible Dell and Alienware models

This heatsink cover fits Dell G15 5510, 5511 and 5515 laptops as well as Alienware M15 R5 and M15 R6 systems. It is designed for the M.2 2280 form factor and matches Dell part numbers 26X1Y, 026X1Y, CN-026X1Y, 29GT8, 029GT8 and CN-029GT8. The package includes one thermal plate with a mounting screw.

Slot 1 and Slot 2 expansion

The adapter works in either the primary or secondary M.2 slot, letting owners add a second 2280 solid-state drive to supported G15 models. Buyers whose laptop lacks a free M.2 2280 slot or who need a different drive length should look elsewhere.

Thermal plate for single 2280 drive

One heatsink plate covers a single M.2 2280 SSD, providing passive cooling for the installed drive. It does not accommodate multiple drives, other form factors or active cooling requirements.

Questions about this item

Does the heatsink cover both Slot 1 and Slot 2 on my Dell G15 5510?

The bracket is designed to fit either Slot 1 or Slot 2 on the G15 5510, 5511 and 5515, so it works in whichever slot you populate.

Will the thermal pad contact the controller on an older 2280 drive I already own?

The pad spans the full length of a 2280 module, covering both the controller and the NAND packages on any standard 2280 SSD.

How can I confirm the heatsink is seated correctly after installation?

The single captive screw should sit flush with the standoff and the metal plate should lie flat against the drive with no visible gap.
