Panasonic RF-2400D AM/FM Portable Radio Silver

Panasonic RF-2400D AM/FM Radio

The Panasonic RF-2400D is a portable AM/FM radio designed for listening at home or outdoors. It operates using an included AC adaptor or four AA batteries for flexible placement. A 10-centimetre speaker and ferrite antenna deliver clear sound on both bands. The silver cabinet measures 9.2 in by 3.5 in by 4.8 in and weighs 690 grams.

Campers and Emergency Listeners

This radio suits campers, hikers and households preparing for power outages or severe weather. The fluorescent pointer on the large dial makes tuning easy in low light. The AFC digital tuner keeps stations locked in without drift. Buyers who want Bluetooth streaming, DAB+ reception or a rechargeable built-in battery should look at something else.

Simple Setup and Common Issues

Plug the AC adaptor into mains power or insert four AA batteries observing the correct polarity. Extend the telescopic antenna for FM and rotate the unit for best AM reception on the ferrite antenna. A 3.5 mm headphone jack allows private listening. The most common issue is weak AM signals indoors; moving near a window or rotating the radio usually improves reception.
