Detachable 2-in-1 for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is a 10.1-inch fully rugged laptop that detaches into a tablet with one hand. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core m5-6Y57 processor at 1.1 GHz with 8 GB memory and a 128 GB SSD. The WUXGA 1920 x 1200 display supports capacitive gloved multi-touch and an active digitizer pen. 4G LTE multi-carrier connectivity is built in for mobile broadband.

Magnesium chassis with MIL-STD and IP65 ratings

The magnesium alloy chassis carries MIL-STD-810G certification for 3-foot drop, shock, vibration, dust, altitude, temperature extremes and humidity. It also meets MIL-STD-461F and IP65 for ingress protection. A spill-resistant keyboard and shock-mounted flex construction protect internal components. The integrated handle doubles as a kickstand for hands-free viewing on site.

Digitizer pen and power adapter included

The box supplies a digitizer pen for precise input on the bonded IPS display and a power adapter with cord for charging. Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed; paper manuals are not included but electronic versions are available online. Memory can be expanded to 16 GB. Bluetooth 4.1 and 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN provide peripheral and network connectivity.

Questions about this item

What wireless LAN standard does the CF-20 support, and what maximum link rate does it cap at in practice?

It uses 802.11a/b/g/n, so the practical ceiling is the 1000 Mbps wired LAN port when the dock is attached; wireless throughput will be lower.

What are the physical dimensions and mounting requirements for the detachable tablet section?

The tablet is a 10.1-inch WUXGA 1920 x 1200 panel in a magnesium alloy chassis weighing 3.9 pounds with a built-in handle that doubles as a kickstand.

How is the digitizer pen paired and calibrated on first use, and what step do users often miss?

The pen works with the capacitive gloved multi-touch plus digitizer screen; install any Windows 10 Pro driver updates, then run the built-in calibration tool before writing.
