Fully rugged 2-in-1 detachable laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is a new fully rugged 2-in-1 device with a 10.1-inch multi-touch WUXGA display that detaches to become a tablet. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core m5-6Y57 processor at 1.1GHz with 8GB of memory and a 2TB SSD. The magnesium alloy chassis carries MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP65 certifications for drop, shock, vibration, dust and water resistance. A digitizer pen and power adapter are included.

Field workers needing one-handed tablet conversion

This unit suits mobile professionals who need a lightweight 3.9-pound machine that converts to a tablet with one hand and survives job-site abuse. The built-in handle doubles as a kickstand for hands-free viewing. Buyers who require a fanless silent design should note the Core m5-6Y57 is a passively cooled single-core processor. Those needing cellular connectivity must add an optional EM7511 Band 14 module separately.

Single-core Core m5-6Y57 at 1.1GHz

The processor is a single-core Intel Core m5-6Y57 running at 1.1GHz with Intel HD Graphics 515. This architecture limits multi-threaded throughput compared to multi-core CPUs. Verify that your workloads run adequately on a single execution thread before purchasing. Memory is soldered to 8GB with a 16GB maximum supported by the platform.
