Fully rugged 2-in-1 for field work

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is a detachable 10.1-inch laptop built to MIL-STD-810G and IP65 standards. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core m5-6Y57 processor at 1.1 GHz with 8 GB memory and a 500 GB SSD. The WUXGA 1920 x 1200 display supports capacitive multi-touch and digitiser pen input. Integrated 4G LTE with FirstNet Band 14 keeps mobile teams connected.

Detaches to a tablet with built-in handle

The magnesium alloy chassis separates into a 3.9-pound tablet in one hand. The integrated handle doubles as a kickstand for hands-free viewing on site. A spill-resistant keyboard and shock-mounted flex construction protect internals during drops and vibration. Gigabit LAN, 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 cover wired and wireless links without extra dongles.

Replaces separate laptop and rugged tablet kits

Organisations carrying both a clamshell notebook and a slate can consolidate to one certified device. The digitiser pen and 2D bar laser scanner support signature capture and inventory tasks in one workflow. Buyers needing fanless silence, larger screens or discrete graphics should evaluate other form factors. Memory upgrades to 16 GB are supported for heavier workloads.

Questions about this item

Does the Core m5-6Y57 throttle under continuous load because it has no fan?

The passively cooled Core m5-6Y57 runs at 1.1 GHz base frequency and will reduce clocks when its thermal limit is reached during sustained workloads.

How loud and hot does the CF-20 get when running all day?

With no moving parts the tablet is silent; the magnesium chassis spreads heat and the MIL-STD-810G rating confirms operation up to the certified high-temperature limit.

What must I already own to use the FirstNet Band 14 LTE connection?

An active FirstNet SIM provisioned for Band 14 service is required; the EM7511 modem and antennas are built into the unit.
