Rugged 13.1-inch touchscreen laptop

The Panasonic Toughbook CF-31 is a fully rugged laptop built to survive harsh environments. It carries MIL-STD-810G and IP65 certifications plus a sunlight-viewable XGA display. A single-core 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB of DDR3 memory handle basic Windows 10 Pro tasks. The 160GB hard drive provides local storage for field data.

Suited for field work not modern apps

This unit fits technicians, surveyors or emergency crews who need a durable computer for legacy software and data entry. The digitiser pen supports precise input on the touchscreen. Buyers who need multi-core performance for current applications or web browsing should look elsewhere. The single-core architecture and limited memory cannot run modern workloads.

Single-core 2.7GHz processor defines capability

The Intel Core i5 runs at 2.7GHz with only one processing core. This clock speed and core count set the hard ceiling for every task this machine can perform. No upgrade or configuration can change this fundamental limit. Verify that your software runs acceptably on a single thread before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Do I need to provide my own power adapter for the CF-31?

The Toughbook CF-31 ships with a power adapter included in the box, so no separate purchase is required.

Will the Gigabit LAN port on this Toughbook work with my older 10/100 network switch?

Yes, the 10/100/1000Mbps LAN port auto-negotiates speed, so it will connect at 100Mbps to your existing switch without any configuration.

How can I verify the touchscreen digitizer is functioning correctly after I power on the laptop?

Use the included digitizer pen to tap and drag across the 13.1-inch XGA display; the cursor should follow the pen tip precisely at the native 1024 x 768 resolution.
