Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 7-inch Rugged Tablet

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 is a fully rugged Windows tablet built for mission-critical mobile work. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of DDR3L memory. A 1TB SSD provides storage for field applications and data. The 7-inch multi-touch display offers 1280 x 800 resolution and supports glove and stylus input.

Suited for Field Workers Needing Compact Rugged

This device suits mobile workers who require a small, durable tablet with a daylight-readable screen and long-life user-replaceable battery. Integrated options such as barcode reader, smart card, magstripe and UHF RFID extend its utility in logistics and inspection roles. Buyers who need a larger display area or a keyboard-first form factor should look at other rugged form factors. The single USB port and docking connector limit peripheral expansion without a dock.

7-inch 1280 x 800 Multi-Touch Display Decides Fit

The defining specification is the 7-inch IPS panel with 1280 x 800 resolution and high-sensitivity multi-touch. It determines whether the viewing area and touch precision meet the demands of your specific field workflow. Connectivity includes 802.11a/b/g/n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.2. A power adapter is included in the box.

Questions about this item

What accessories are included with the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-M1 and what must I purchase separately?

The box contains the 7-inch tablet, a stylus pen and a power adapter. Memory is fixed at 8 GB DDR3L 1600 in a single module and cannot be expanded, so no RAM purchase is needed.

Should I choose this 1 TB SSD model or a smaller capacity if one were offered?

This unit ships with a 1 TB solid-state drive and 8 GB of DDR3L memory. No other storage or memory configurations are listed, so the only decision is whether the 1 TB capacity meets your workload.

How does the 1.6 GHz dual-core i5 perform in typical field applications on this 7-inch tablet?

The 1.60 GHz dual-core 4th-generation i5 drives the 1280 x 800 multi-touch display and runs Windows 10 Pro, handling inventory scans, data entry and barcode reading through the integrated UHF RFID and magstripe modules.
