Network dome camera with varifocal lens

The Panasonic WV-NW484S is a fixed dome network camera built for indoor or outdoor surveillance. It uses a CCD sensor to capture colour or monochrome video at up to 640 x 480 resolution. A 3.80 mm to 8 mm varifocal lens provides 2x optical zoom for adjustable field of view. The vandal-resistant housing supports tilt of 75° and swivel of 175° for flexible positioning.

Suits IP installations needing basic vandal

This camera fits projects that require a rugged dome with simple network integration via RJ-45 and standard protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP and FTP. It is not suited for installations that need high-definition resolution, wide dynamic range beyond Super Dynamic III, or wireless connectivity. Buyers who want more storage options or advanced analytics should look at something else.

640 x 480 maximum resolution

The sensor tops out at VGA resolution, which determines the level of detail available for identification. If the application demands sharper images for facial recognition or licence-plate capture, this specification will be the limiting factor. The 2x optical zoom and CCD sensor support the stated resolution but cannot exceed it.
