Ideal for tight patching

This 5 ft Category 6 patch cable uses 28 AWG conductors to stay flexible in dense racks or behind desks. It suits installers who need a thin, manageable link for short runs between switches, panels or endpoints.

Practical limits of Cat6 at 28 AWG

The thinner gauge increases insertion loss, so the cable is intended for short patch cords rather than long horizontal runs. At 5 ft it stays within the channel budget for gigabit Ethernet, but longer distances would need heavier wire.

Snagless RJ-45 plugs and green compliance

Both ends carry RJ-45 male connectors with integrated strain relief to protect the latch during frequent moves. The jacket meets green‑compliant material requirements, and the clear blue color helps identify the link in crowded cable managers.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 5 ft length or a different length for my setup?

The 5 ft length suits short rack-to-rack or desk-to-switch runs; pick a longer cable only if the distance between devices exceeds five feet.

What does the Category 6 rating deliver in an actual installation?

Category 6 supports gigabit Ethernet and up to 10 Gbps over short distances, so the cable handles typical home and office network speeds without bottleneck.

How does the 28 AWG gauge affect the connection compared to thicker cables?

The 28 AWG conductors make the cable more flexible for tight bends, while still meeting Cat6 performance specs for the supported 5 ft run.
