A 5 ft Category 6 patch cable using 28 AWG conductors and TX6 modular plugs on both ends
This five-foot Category 6 UTP patch cord uses 28 AWG conductors and TX6 modular plugs on both ends. It is built for standard Gigabit Ethernet connections in home offices, small-business networks or lab benches. The slim profile suits tight cable-management spaces where a full-size cord would be awkward.
Passive copper construction means no fans, no active cooling and zero electrical power consumption. The cable adds no audible noise to the installation and generates no measurable heat during normal data transfer. It simply carries the signal between two powered ports without drawing current itself.
The 28 AWG gauge sets the bend radius and insertion-force limits that determine whether the cord fits your patch panel, switch density or cable tray. If your rack demands thicker conductors for PoE budgets or longer runs, this cable will not meet those requirements. Buyers who need a heavier gauge or a different category should select another part.

Route the cable gently, avoiding tight bends or pulling tension on the 28 AWG wires, then press each TX6 modular plug firmly until the latch clicks into the port.
Inspect the TX6 modular plugs and 28 AWG conductors periodically for bent pins, latch wear, or jacket damage; replace the cord if any connector no longer clicks securely.
The 28 AWG conductors have higher insertion loss than thicker gauges, so signal attenuation over the 5 ft length becomes the limiting factor under continuous heavy traffic.
