1U rack firewall with six Intel Gigabit ports

The Partaker R9 is a 19-inch 1U rackmount network appliance built around an Intel Core i3-3220 processor on a B75 chipset. It ships with 16 GB of DDR3 memory and a 256 GB mSATA SSD, ready for immediate deployment. Six RJ-45 interfaces provide wired throughput up to 1000 Mbps for LAN-to-WAN forwarding.

Pre-loaded compatibility

The system supports popular FreeBSD-based router distributions including pfSense, Untangle and OPNsense, plus Linux and Windows. A bypass set maintains connectivity during power loss or software failure. Console, VGA and two USB ports simplify initial configuration and peripheral attachment without extra adapters.

Verify rack depth and memory ceiling before ordering

The chassis measures 430 x 270 x 50 mm and includes mounting ears for standard 19-inch racks or wall mounting. The board accepts two SODIMM DDR3 modules up to 32 GB total, so confirm your memory plan fits that limit. A 150 W internal supply operates on 100-240 V AC, but available DC power in your rack should be checked.

Questions about this item

Will the 150 W power supply need periodic replacement?

The 150 W unit is the only internal power source; no redundant module is present, so plan for a swap if the fan fails or voltages drift after several years of continuous duty.

What limits throughput when the 6 Intel Gigabit ports run at full load all day?

Forwarding tops out at 1000 Mbps, so the CPU and the 1 Gbps NIC ceiling appear before any thermal throttle on the i3 3220.

How much heat and noise does the ball-bearing fan produce in a 1U rack running 24/7?

The single turbo fan cools the i3 3220 and B75 chipset; expect a low hum and modest warmth at the rear vents, typical for a 150 W appliance in a 430 x 270 x 50 mm chassis.
