VCI Poly Tubing for Corrosion Protection

Partners Brand VCI Poly Tubing 404 provides volatile corrosion inhibitor protection for metal parts during storage and shipment. The blue tubing measures four inches wide and comes in a five hundred foot roll at four mil thickness.

Suited for Industrial Packing Operations

This product suits operations that need continuous tubing to wrap metal components of varying lengths. Buyers who require pre-cut bags, heat-sealable films, or a different width should look at other configurations.

Verify Width and Material Compatibility

Confirm that a four inch width fits the parts you plan to protect and that the VCI chemistry is compatible with the metals in your workflow. Check that your sealing equipment can handle four mil polyethylene film before ordering.

Questions about this item

What width of heat sealer or impulse sealer is needed to close the 4-inch tubing?

A sealer with at least a 4-inch jaw width is required to make a full seal across the tubing.

Will the blue VCI tubing protect existing steel parts that already have a light surface rust?

The vapour corrosion inhibitor slows further oxidation but does not remove rust already present on the metal.

How can I confirm the VCI chemistry is active after I seal a package?

A VCI test strip placed inside the sealed tube will change colour if the inhibitor vapour is present.
