Auto-Trac Tire Chains 0155505

Peerless Industrial Group Auto-Trac Tire Chains 0155505 are a two-piece set designed for tires from 15 to 18 inches. They use a self-tightening ratchet system that keeps the chains snug without stopping to retighten. The split outside chain with two ratchet connectors allows installation without moving the vehicle. Case-hardened alloy cross-chains in an aggressive diamond pattern give strong traction and a smooth ride.

Drivers needing quick-fit chains for listed sizes

These chains fit the specific tire sizes listed, including 215/55-18, 225/60-17, 235/65-16 and 265/40-18 among others. They suit drivers who want to install chains at the roadside without jacking the vehicle. Buyers with tire sizes outside the published fitment list should look at something else. Vehicles requiring more than two chains for four-wheel drive will need an additional set.

Sustained grip on snow and ice

The diamond-pattern cross-chains maintain consistent bite over long distances rather than only during initial acceleration. Case-hardened alloy links resist wear so traction does not fade quickly on abrasive surfaces. The self-tightening ratchets keep tension constant during extended driving, preventing slack that reduces effectiveness. Chains remain stable through repeated stop-start cycles on mixed road conditions.

Questions about this item

My tyres are 225/65 R17 — will the 0155505 chains fit without buying a different size?

Yes, 225/65-17 is listed among the compatible tyre sizes for the 0155505 Auto-Trac chains.

I keep my 16-inch steel wheels for winter — do the split outside chain and ratchet connectors clear those rims?

The split outside chain with two ratchet connectors is designed for easy installation on 15 to 18 inch wheels without moving the vehicle.

After fitting the chains, how can I confirm the self-tightening ratchet has engaged properly?

The high-impact ratchet system automatically takes up slack; a snug, centred diamond-pattern cross-chain with no loose links shows it is working.
