21-Pocket Expanding Organizer

The Pendaflex expanding file folder provides 21 pockets with A-Z and blank tabs for sorting letter-size documents. It expands to 17.5 inches to hold contracts, invoices and receipts. The polypropylene construction resists tearing and moisture. An elastic cord closure secures the flap for transport.

Practical Limits of the Accordion Format

The wallet-style design relies on a flexible gusset that can stretch to 17.5 inches, but overfilling reduces the elastic cord's grip on the flap. Letter-size sheets measuring 8.5 by 11 inches fit the pockets, while larger formats will not close properly. The single-layer polypropylene offers splash resistance but is not waterproof.

Upgrade from Basic File Wallets

This organizer replaces single-pocket wallets or small accordion files that hold fewer than 21 categories. The jump is worth it when daily paperwork exceeds the capacity of a standard folder and alphabetical tabs speed retrieval. It does not suit users who need hanging-file rails or rigid box storage.
