PIODATA iXflash Cube 1TB for iPhone and iPad

The PIODATA iXflash Cube is a 1 TB USB flash drive built for Apple devices. It connects through a USB Type-A port and carries MFi certification for iPhone and iPad compatibility. The drive is intended for users who want automatic local backup of photos and videos while the device charges, without relying solely on cloud storage.

Automatic incremental backup while charging

When an iPhone or iPad is plugged in for charging and connected to Wi-Fi, the iXflash Cube backs up all stored photos and videos, including those kept in iCloud. The process runs automatically and skips files already present on the drive, so repeated sessions only add new content. A dark-mode option in the companion app reduces screen power draw to help charging finish faster.

Replaces manual cloud-only

This drive removes the need to manually offload media to a computer or trust a single cloud account for every precious image. It restores full libraries — including Live Photos, bursts, dates and locations — back to any iPhone or iPad, and it creates separate folders automatically when multiple people use the same cube. Buyers who need cross-platform file transfer or expandable storage for non-Apple devices should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 1 TB iXflash Cube draw enough power while running all day to slow iPhone charging?

The companion app includes a dark mode that reduces the drive's power draw so charging speed is not noticeably affected.

What must I already own for the 1 TB iXflash Cube to back up my photos?

An iPhone or iPad with a Lightning port, the free iXflash Cube app, and a USB-A power adapter or hub to supply power while the drive is connected.

Can I keep using the same 1 TB iXflash Cube if I upgrade to a newer iPhone that uses USB-C?

No, the drive has a fixed USB-A connector and is MFi certified for Lightning devices only; it will not connect directly to a USB-C iPhone.
