PIODATA iXflash Cube 256MB USB flash drive

The PIODATA iXflash Cube is a USB flash drive designed for iPhone and iPad users who want automatic photo and video backup while charging. It connects via USB Type A and is Apple MFi certified for compatibility. The companion app manages the process and organises files by user.

Capacity and headroom

The drive provides 256MB of storage for photos and videos, including Live Photos and Burst images. It only backs up new items not already stored on the device and can also pull content from iCloud when the phone is on Wi-Fi. Dark mode in the app reduces power draw during charging. Large libraries will exceed the available space quickly.

What this replaces or upgrades from

This device replaces manual computer transfers or cloud-only backup routines for iOS users. The jump is worth it when you want a local, hardware-based copy that restores original formats, dates, and locations to a new iPhone or iPad without an internet connection. It is not suited for users needing high-capacity storage for extensive media libraries.
