Questions about this item

Should I pick the 65 W model or a lower-wattage version for my Dell Latitude 5540?

The 65 W unit matches the factory rating for the Latitude 5540 and also supports 60 W, 20 V/3 A and 20 V/2.25 A profiles, so it covers the full range of Dell USB-C laptops listed.

What does the 65 W rating actually deliver when I plug it into my XPS 13?

It supplies up to 20 V at 3.25 A, giving the full 65 W the XPS 13 expects, and will negotiate lower voltages automatically if the system requests less power.

Does the USB-C connector limit charging speed compared with a barrel jack?

The USB-C port on this adapter carries the full 65 W at 20 V/3.25 A, so there is no reduction versus the original Dell barrel-jack supply for the supported models.
